The hinged pill cutting design easily delivers a consistent pressure and the exclusive adjustable pill channel holds pills tightly to deliver an accurate pill cut. Some pills do not hold up well when split so please cut a single dose first before cutting multiple pills.

Improvement over old cutter

This cutter works as advertised. My prescribed dose is half of a pill that is already tiny and is oval, so the standard 'V' cutter doesn't work very well. I can load several pills in this cutter and get clean halves.

That said, I took stars off for the following:
1. The cutter is very stiff to operate. I am fortunate enough to not have arthritis, but I suspect it would be unusable for someone who did.
2. The channel the pills fit in is deeper than many pills are tall. It's a little awkward to insert the pills into the cutter, and also awkward to remove the cut pills. I recommend turning the cutter contents out onto a plate with a cloth on it so the pills don't bounce all over the room.
3. After cutting several pills, there is some residue on the blade that will interfere with getting clean cuts. It really ought to be cleaned off, but this is hazardous as the blade is (as advised in the instructions) VERY sharp. This cutter really ought to come with a small brush or other cleaning tool. It is not safe to try to clean it with one's fingers.

All that said, it's still an improvement over my old cutter, and I'm not sorry I bought it.

Failure

In my first review a few weeks ago, I gave the Multi Pill Cutter five stars because it worked perfectly. I also made a suggestion for improvement. This evening it cut a row of rectangle pills as expected. For the second row, the turn-screw used to hold pills in the center of the tray failed, making the cutter useless. I willl try to return it.

Was given pills the size of a glass head pin by veterinarian and told to give one half pill twice daily. Your pill thing is the only pill cutter that will dial down to the size of these pills and then cut them! The dog will need these for the rest of her life so I thank you for making my life easier.
